ACCORDIOMANIA INTERNETIONAL АCCORDION FESTIVAL 2025
"Accordiomania" International Accordion Festival is a platform for lively, creative and intellectual exchange between internationally recognized artists, teachers and young, talented musicians from around the world who will be offered new ideas, opportunities for creative development and useful contacts for future professional careers.
„Accordiomania” International Accordion Festival is the only event in Bulgaria, which offers Competition (International and National competition), exchange of experience (accordion academy), concerts and creative contacts with one of the most famous names in the accordion art.
Festival includes:
“Accordiomania” International Accordion Competition in 12 categories for soloists, chamber ensembles and orchestras, divided into 3 areas: classical, chamber, virtuoso and entertainment music.
“Accordiomania” National Accordion Competition in two age groups for individual performers Section I - "Classics" and Section II - "Folklore", included in the Programme of measures for the protection of children with outstanding talents 2025.
An international jury from Spain, Germany, Serbia, Moldova, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina will evaluate the participants in the competitions.
The Accordion Academy offers to the participants Masterclasses by distinguished pedagogues and performers:
- Iñaki Alberdi (Spain) - professor of accordion at the Higher Center of Music in the Basque Country - Musikene. He teaches at prestigious international centres such as the Royal Academy of Music (London), Royal Danish Academy of Music (Copenhagen), Sibelius Academy (Helsinki), FHNW Music Academy (Basel) and Folkwang University of the Arts (Essen).
- Radu Ratoi (Republic of Moldova) - professor of accordion at the University of Transylvania - Brasov (Romania), concert performer, laureate of international competitions, winner of the national prize "Master of Arts" awarded by the President of the Republic of Moldova.
Concerts during the festival will present to the audience the unlimited applications of the accordion in the different genres of musical art:
26 June 2025 - Concert by Iñaki Alberdi (bayan, Spain) and Todor Mijajlovic (bayan, Serbia) - soloists of the Shumen Symphony Orchestra with conductor Georgi Miltiyadov.
Soloists:
- Iñaki Alberdi (bayan, Spain) - concert performer, soloist of orchestras such as the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the Tampere Chamber Orchestra, the National Orchestra of Spain, the Granada Orchestra, the Community Orchestra of Madrid, the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, the Basque Country Orchestra, the Magnitogorsk Orchestra, the National Chamber Orchestra of Andorra, the Malaga Philharmonic and the Montevideo Philharmonic.
- Todor Mijajlovic (bayan, R Serbia) - winner of the Grand Prix of the International Competition Accordomania 2023.
In the concert program:
Astor Piazzolla - "The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires", soloist Iñaki Alberdi, accordion;
Igor Shamo - Concerto for bayan and string orchestra - premiere for Bulgaria; soloist Todor Mijajlovic, accordion;
Federico Jusid - Bidaia - premiere for Bulgaria; soloist Iñaki Alberdi, accordion;
28 June 2025 - Gala concert - winners of the National and International Competition "Accordomania".
