Speaker Series: Halloween in Ireland

Halloween in Ireland: Celtic Origins, 1960's and 1970's, and Today will explore the Celtic origins of Halloween in Ireland as well as my personal memories of Halloween. Finally, we will explore how it has changed since then with the influence of globalism.

Our series aims to bring local topic experts to the library to share their knowledge with the general community--everyone is welcome! A Q&A/discussion will follow each presentation.

Dr. Vincent Carey teaches Medieval and Early Modern history at SUNY Plattsburgh. His most enjoyable community contribution is to the Clinton County "Senior Scholar" program in which he has taught for years.

Lifelong Learning for All will be held the first Wednesday of each month (except holidays) at 5:30 PM in the library auditorium.
