Meet the Cat in the Hat!

On March 12, 1957, a mischievous cat debuted in the form of The Cat in the Hat. Since then, generations have learned to read with it and the many other “I Can Read All By Myself” books put out by Dr. Seuss (the nom de plume of Theodore Geisel) as well as many other authors.

On Saturday, October 11, 2025, you will have a chance to meet and be entertained by The Cat in the Hat at the Fair Theatre.

Sponsored by the Unger Memorial Library & PBS Kids, the event will be led by PBS Kids out of Lubbock and will include a story time, book giveaways, a PBS Kids screening, and of course, a meet-and-greet and photos with The Cat in the Hat.

The event is free, but you will need tickets. They can be obtained at Unger Memorial Library between now and then - or you can pick them up at the ticket booth at the Fair Theatre the day of the event. The doors open at 1:00 PM.
