Puer - A fermented genre of tea
Oolong - A partially oxidized genre of tea
Two of the most complex and varied styles of tea - Puer and Oolong. These two categories are IMMENSE. So many teas. So much variety.
I often say that everyone can find something to like in these two broad genres.
We will explore just bit of the vastness, peruse maps, talk about some history and production methods, as well as practice our Gong Fu which suits these teas so well.
As always during the retreats we will also be making food using fresh garden ingredients. perhaps some Squash? Corn? Pole beans?! always fresh greens. Plus likely some sweet treats as well.
Friday we will me at the farmers market (where I will be serving and selling tea) so we can orient ourselves for the weekend, and try a bit of tea, too of course.
Saturday will have breakfast (for all non-day students) then morning oolong session, then break for ingredient collection and preparation for lunch (for all students) then afternoon puer session until approximately 4-5pm (depending on number of students) Then dinner prep (for all non-day students)
Sunday roughly same schedule time wise but with different teas, different food, and a bit more practice. ending around 4pm - (no dinner)
