If you are looking to not only improve your relationship with your horse, but to gain a thorough understanding of Luke’s approach to horsemanship, and how to apply these tools and principles to any horse you work with in the future, this clinic is for you!
Luke is only accepting six participants for this five-day intensive Performance Horsemanship clinic, so it will have a very personalized format, with plenty of individualized attention for each student and horse.
Luke works in small groups with two participants at a time, and each participant has two sessions, one in the morning, and one in the afternoon, each day with their horse, with a lunch break in between the morning and afternoon sessions. The clinic will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at approximately 5:00 p.m. each day.
Luke's work focuses on combining relationship-based training with an emphasis on healthy biomechanics and high-level performance.
Luke covers a wide range of topics, which may include, but are not limited to:
Building connection, focus, softness, and emotional regulation
~
Increasing energetic awareness and understanding of body language
~
Fundamental body control for liberty work
~
Incorporating clicker training / positive reinforcement
~
Liberty circles and advanced liberty maneuvers such as the bow, lay down, sit up, Spanish walk, rear, liberty spin, cutting game, and more.
~
Luke's approach for teaching advanced Performance Liberty principles: finding healthy, balanced movement, relaxation under pressure, collection at liberty, lateral work, lead changes, etc.
~
Transferring Performance Liberty principles to ridden work (general horsemanship, dressage, reining, and bridleless riding).
In addition to learning from clinic participant sessions, students can also watch and learn from Luke's training sessions with his personal horses here at home, both during and after clinic hours.
