Q-MoB Queer Eye Tour of Herman Melville's Arrowhead (Pittsfield, MA)

In collaboration with the Berkshire Historical Society, tour Herman Melville's home, Arrowhead, and hear about the famous writer's time there, how he came to write Moby-Dick, and his relationship with Nathaniel Hawthorne. After a tour of the house, please join artist Tom Truss for a discussion about Melville and Hawthorne and Truss's co-creation of the performance piece "ReWritten", an evolving 5 year project that examines the authors' private and public lives. There will be a performance of ReWritten this summer in Connecticut.

WHAT TO BRING:

• Umbrella &/or Raincoat to keep you dry should it rain while going from your car to the main house behind the barn, where we will gather
• FEE: The cost of the tour is $15 payable to the Berkshire Historical Society on the day of the tour either with cash, check, or debit/credit card.
• Q-MoB Donation: Unless this is your very 1st time at any Q-MoB event (in which case we don't ask for a donation, but you must pay the Arrowhead Fee), Q-MoB asks you to make a $10-$20 tax-deductible donation online or as cash or check made out to "Q-MoB" at the event -- to support Q-MoB's work creating community among rural queer men, including our local arts/culture outings, especially programs celebrating local queer art & artists.
• Comfortable Walking Shoes: We will be going up & down a set of period stairs, so we don't recommend stilleto heals

CARPOOLING/RIDE-SHARE: Carpooling is a great way to get to know other men, save money on gas, and help to reduce your carbon footprint and save the planet. If you need a ride or are open to carpooling, please indicate that when you are registering, & our ride coordinator will try to match you with people nearby who are interested in carpooling or offering rides.

OR : Please donate $10-$20 to help assure Q-MoB can continue to offer more than 20 activities & multiple resources & services to rural queer men all over the region. If you attend 2 or more Q-MoB events/month, please consider becoming a monthly sustaining donor member. By donating $25, $50, $75, or $100/month you can help to sustain the incredible variety of activities, services, and resources Q-MoB provides and assure all of these activities are accessible to men regardless of their age, income, or ability, and best of all you can avoid having to donate at each and every event you attend. Monthly Sustaining Members pay only once a month and then can attend all our activities with no further donation.
