Want to practice foundational sewing skills and make a pride flag that is just as unique as you are? Join Noah and the Center for Creative Reuse, while we make our own patchwork pride flags! This workshop is free to attend and all supplies will be provided, but if you have some fabric that you particularly want to add, bring it with you (cotton works best, scraps all need to be 12 inches long at least)! We'll be working together, and all skill levels are welcome!
Creative Reuse is a supportive space, open to folks with any level of artistic ability. Our goal is to foster expression and creative community, not perfection. Just bring an open mind– we’ll cover the rest.
This workshop is the fifth of our Guest Teaching Artist workshop series where we'll bring in a different local artist to host a workshop on the second sunday of each month. This months' Guest TA is Noah (they/them). Noah Griggs is a 29-year-old Pittsburgh transplant who creates art and writes about their experience as a queer and transgender individual, with the hope to normalize and celebrate the vast array of experiences of the LGBTQ+ community. They have created their business, Stet Studio, as a home for their projects and they are currently working on a tarot deck that celebrates Queer and Trans History.
