With Hall of Fame weekend quickly approaching, we are preparing to celebrate Director Emeritus Jack R. Anderson's induction into the Pitt Athletics Hall of Fame.
As part of this historic moment, the Pitt Band will honor Jack's induction at the conclusion of their halftime show at on Saturday, September 27 during the Pitt–Louisville game. Director of Bands Dr. Brad Townsend is extending the opportunity for Pitt Band alumni to join the current band at halftime to pay tribute to Jack.
Pitt vs. Louisville Game Day Details:
• Kickoff is at 12:00pm at Acrisure Stadium
• Expected attire is the royal blue Pitt Band alumni polo, black pants, and black/dark-colored shoes. Those in need of a polo will be able to purchase one for $10.00. Royal blue golf polos previously purchased through the PBAC Webstore are permitted.
• Preferred payment for polos is by check, made payable to the University of Pittsburgh with "Pitt Band Alumni Council" on the memo line. If you are unable to pay by check, the exact cash amount is requested.
• Alumni are invited to participate in a rehearsal at the pregame concert at 10:00am at the Gate A Amphitheater. We will only be playing the fight songs.
• Alumni will have the option to participate in the March to Victory in a parade block behind the current band to march into the stadium. March to Victory step-off is at 11:00am.
• Similar to Alumni Band Day, there will be a section reserved for the alumni band to sit next to the current band. In order to get into the game, you MUST either: 1) participate in the March to Victory parade, 2) meet the end of the parade at the Gate 5 entrance, or 3) have your own ticket to the game and meet the alumni inside.
• Alumni may select to play their instrument at halftime, or they may select to be present on the field with no instrument. All alumni will be assigned a drill chart and spot on the field for the performance.
• Those needing instruments, equipment, polos, and/or music will have the opportunity to make these selections on the google form.
• Outside of those needing to purchase a polo, there is no cost to participate in this event if you are planning to sit with the alumni band.
