Join Argyle Featured Artist/Teaching Artist LaVerne Kemp to explore the fabulous world of felting during this five-session Artist Residency Project workshop! Felting is a naturally meditative and therapeutic process employing rhythmic motions, mild soap, and warm water to interlock wool fibers.
Ms. Kemp, a color and fiber specialist, will provide decorative beads, yarns, and assorted fibers from her beautiful collection. Participants will dye white wool using natural pigments and learn how to create colorful wet-felted coils, balls, and flat sheets. Simple stitching techniques will also be taught for the purposes of ornamentation and construction.
