2 Frays Brewery & Histories of Pittsburgh Present: Thinkers & Drinker with Jason Kirin

We're very excited to welcome Jason Kirin as the next featured speaker for Thinkers and Drinkers! Jason will kick things off by sharing how and why he created the Histories of Pittsburgh, walking through his process of researching addresses, from diving into digital archives at home, to visiting Allegheny County’s physical collections, and even navigating mail-in archive requests.⁠

He’ll also talk about the challenges he’s faced, the creative workarounds he’s discovered, and some of his favorite historical finds. Throughout the talk, Jason will bring Pittsburgh’s past to life with stories, maps, photos, newspapers, WWI draft cards, naturalization papers, marriage certificates, and more projected on the screen.⁠
