ERIC SOMMER – LIVE & SMOKIN’
Real Music. No Sauce Needed.
When Eric Sommer hits the stage, it’s like pulling the lid off a seasoned smoker — everything comes alive with heat, grit, and flavor. His shows are slow-cooked and wild: a sizzling mix of Americana, country blues, punk-folk, and guitar chops so sharp they could slice brisket.
Armed with vintage acoustics, open tunings, bottleneck slide, and a stompbox beat that shakes the floorboards, Eric delivers a performance that’s unfiltered, spontaneous, and packed with smokehouse soul. He doesn’t just *play* his guitar — he works it like a pitmaster at 4 a.m., coaxing every last note out until it falls right off the bone.
Eric’s spent decades on the road, sharing stages and tour buses with legends like Little Feat, David Bromberg, Leon Redbone, John Mayall, Nick Lowe, Dave Edmunds, Wreckless Eric, Bram Tchaikovsky, and Roger McGuinn, Gene Clark, and Chris Hillman of The Byrds.
Back in the Boston days, Eric fronted The Atomics, an *insanely popular power trio* and a *serious firestarter* in the city’s punk, pop, and new wave scene. Signed to Arista Records, The Atomics helped define the flavor of the era with explosive live shows that left no ear unseared.
Today, Eric’s solo sets are pure meat and smoke — no filler. From TingeFest in London to The Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro and The Performance Center in Boston, he’s carved out a reputation as one of the most electrifying live acts on the circuit.
Eric Sommer doesn’t bring a show — he brings a Pig Roast in full swing. Hot, loud, and unforgettable. Come hungry.
