Explore The Mikhail Lermontov & surrounding area over Labour Weekend, followed by a Wildlife Walk on Kaipupu Island.
Description:
Stay at the Lermontov Lodge in Port Gore, home to the wreck of the Mikhail Lermontov. The Lermontov lies in 38m of water and sits on its starboard side. Access to the wreck starts at 12-15 meters and you will be blown away by the size of the wreck. Most of the diving is done between 15 and 30 metres.

• All travel from Wellington Ferry Terminal
• 3 days of diving the Lermontov Wreck with 3 dives per day (2 exploring the Lermontov, 1 at surrounding reefs). Opportunity for a 4th night (shore) dive.
• Light breakfast, lunch, and dinner
• Accommodation for 4 nights
• 3 air tank refills per day included
• Water Taxi to/from Kaipupu Island

• Enriched air (Nitrox) fills
• Optional donation to Kaipupu Sanctuary

Itinerary (dive schedule may be adjusted depending on weather, or group preferences):
• Depart Wellington 1.30pm Friday 24th October (Ferry check-in 12.30). We’ll arrive Picton & head up to lodge by car. Settle in at the Lodge, dinner & bed.
• Saturday 25th October: Guided familiarisation dive on the Lermontov. Back to the lodge for lunch, second dive on the Lermontov, third a shallow dive on Gannet Point reef. Possible 4th shore night dive for those keen.
• Sunday 26th October: Head out to the Lastingham Wreck, dive Black Head on the way back in, lunch on the boat or beach, third dive on the Lermontov. Possible 4th shore night dive for those keen.
• Monday 27th October: Dive the Lermontov, second dive on the Lermontov or reef, back for lunch at the lodge, head out at around 1.30pm for a third dive. Back to the Lodge around 3.30pm to clean up and dry our kit for the trip home the next day.
• Tuesday 28th October: Depart the Lermontov Lodge to arrive in Picton around 9.30am. From there we’ll take a short water taxi ride to Kaipupu Sanctuary where we’ll spend 2 hours exploring the predator free reserve. Return to Picton at around 12.30pm, our ferry departs at 2pm arriving in Wellington around 5.30pm.
What to bring with you:
• All your dive gear including 2 dive lights (one as back up) – Hire is available
• Tech Divers to have all required gear for their planned dives
• Proof of Certification
• Snacks (highly recommended) and own drinks other than tea/coffee
• Warm clothes as the nights can get chilly
• Toiletries and swimming towel
• Bedding is supplied but feel free to bring a sleeping bag or your fave pillow
Minimum Certification:
• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent
