We’d love you to join us in monitoring the homes of our favourite fish!
As part of the Magnetic Island Coastal Stewardship project, join the OzFish team in the monitoring of seven different sites around the Island, over two days. Monitoring includes laboratory water quality sampling, water quality probe testing, fish monitoring, macroinvertebrate monitoring and riparian zone analysis.
Our activities include waterbug sampling, fish surveys and water quality testing. If you are keen to spend some time outdoors, learn new skills, and meet like-minded people, then this is for you.
Creekwatch is a great way to get involved in catchment management and give something back to the waterways you love. Our activities are fun and family-friendly, creating a relaxed environment where all are welcome.
Make sure you bring:
- Enclosed shoes that can get wet
- Wear a long-sleeved shirt
- Hat
- Sunscreen
- Drinking water
Registration is essential. We hope to see you there!
The event is run by OzFish, JCU Tropwater, Magnetic Island Community Development Association, and Townsville City Council with funding support from the Australian Government through the CRC Program and BCF – Boating, Camping, Fishing.
