Welcome to Groverdell, Texas, 1995.
A single, uncompromising retired teacher, Eleanor Bannister, (played by Bonnie Hughes) knows the eyes of her small town are on her—as her acquaintance with charming Abel, an itinerant handyman, (played by Patrick Rutherford) develops or explodes! Dawn Shoopman plays Eleanor’s sweet, but nosy and excitable best friend, Grace.

Life that’s relatable to all of us—aging, letting go, facing change, welcoming it, reluctantly trusting the unexpected, and most of all, embracing life bravely with love and hope— resonates brilliantly in this hilarious, real, and deeply touching play!
