The Ashland Culture of Peace Commission (ACPC) in collaboration with Phoenix Helio and Langford Art Gallery is proud to present VISIONARY : Art From the Heart, a unique Community-Based art exhibition and activation featuring 26 artists from the Southern Oregon community who are expressing their heartfelt truths about what peace building means to them through visual art.
This exhibition celebrates creativity as a path to peace and takes place from August 22 to September 26, 2025, at the Langford Art Gallery, located at 4850 S Pacific Hwy, Phoenix, Oregon. Organized by ACPC and independent curator Beca Blake, this exhibit invites the public to experience how the expression and actions of a Culture of Peace can take many forms. Through painting, mixed media, and more, the artists use the language of art to inspire reflection, empathy, and transformation. The exhibition is family-friendly and open to all ages.
“This entire production with our sponsor, ACPC, is a powerful combination of community-based art events and cultural activations for the cause of inspiring people to consider what building a culture of peace means”, says curator Beca Blake. “We are asking if perhaps cultivating peace may begin in our hearts and if so, how do we communicate that through creative expression? Phoenix is the heart of the valley, so it is a perfect fit to host a peace-centric group art exhibition at Langford Art Gallery.”
VISIONARY : Art From the Heart is part of a special production package of celebrations honoring the 10th anniversary of the Ashland Culture of Peace Commission on the International Day of Peace, September 21. This exhibition highlights how peace building begins from within and can be expressed outwardly through courage, creativity, and collaboration.
“The expression and actions of the Culture of Peace take many forms, and art can bring this message to humanity’s hearts and minds with powerful, silent inspiration,” says ACPC co-founder Irene kai. “These artists remind us that speaking from the heart is both a creative act and a cultural shift.”
