Taiko Ten

Hello everyone! We are excited to be making our big debut with the taiko community at this year’s #natc2025 We will be performing an original composition written by our founder and artistic director, Gavino Takase-Sanchez! This composition titled Kurui Daiko was first created in the early 2000’s and performed by one of Gavino’s previous groups Kaminari Taiko of Houston. Kurui Daiko has since evolved into a visceral and primal sound where it no longer sounds composed but more summoned. It is a composition that feels alive, feral and unrestrained. It no longer seeks to express. It seeks to invoke.
