With her years in the game, a multitude of awards, accolades and achievements, global tours and widespread influence, Sam Divine is a powerhouse artist. Renowned selector, producer, label owner and all round inspiration to countless women worldwide, she has established herself as a formidable presence. Sam was DJ Mag’s cover star in June 2024, marking a career highlight and cementing her standing as one of the scene’s most respected figures. Later that year, in October, she won Best House DJ at the DJ Awards in Ibiza, an award voted for by the public.
Driven by the finite nature of life, she is instigating a pivotal shift in her lifestyle. What we might call ‘Sam 2.0’ is the next phase of her evolutionary path, utilising her knowledge and experience to reveal more of her truest self. Focusing on her wellbeing and exploring sobriety, while also pushing the boundaries of her creativity are key pillars of this development, which has permeated throughout her professional and personal life; mental stability, more energy, better sleep, more productivity and a greater ability to create moments of solace and respite.
As a key member of the Defected family, Sam forged a glittering path as a DJ to begin with, before taking her skills to the studio and, eventually, setting up her own label, Dvine Sounds. Her touring schedule has taken her to every corner of the globe. In 2024 alone she performed well over 100 shows with headline appearances at EXIT Festival and Tomorrowland’s Freedom Stage. Meanwhile, she held down a residency at Ushuaia throughout the summer, toured the USA and Australia, and appeared at an exhaustive list of clubs and festivals across Europe and the rest of the world.
Sam’s ability as a DJ has been foundational to her success. From the very early days, her refined ear for soulful sounds, combined with an innate understanding of dance floor energy, has been at the root of the Sam Divine sound. You can hear it in every set, and the dance floor faithful revel in her high-energy performances, always delivered with that all important soulful element. Her elevation to one of the Queens of the global scene has been the source of inspiration for many women, and she is often cited as an influence by female artists from today’s generation.
With her role as a female trailblazer firmly established, setting the standard when it comes to artistic creativity, self-love and a healthier outlook are cornerstones of embodying her Queen status. The positivity is palpable, the motivation at a high and the love for music as strong as it ever was.
