August 9, 2025, at 10:00am: Discover the Phoenix Wetlands! Located at Blue Heron Park
Did you know there are some springs in Blue Heron Park
that have steadily provided a supply of clean cold-water year around to nurture Bear Creek? These springs made themselves known to us after the devastating Almeda Fire. But the stream that they create is blocked to Bear Creek by 1700 cubic yards of rubble. That rubble will soon be removed! Come enjoy a tour of the springs and Blue Heron Creek lead by hydrogeologist Robert Coffan!

Discover the Joy of Birding with Elva Manquera-DeShields
Join Klamath Bird Observatory's Elva Manquera-DeShields for a two-hour birding workshop that blends learning with outdoor exploration. This beginner friendly session will introduce the basics of birding-including how to observe, identify and appreciate the birds around us. Participants will also enjoy a guided bird walk through Blue Heron Park, where we'll look and listen for local species in their natural habitat. Binoculars will be provided, and the workshop is open to all ages.
August 30, 2025, at 7:30pm: Zoom in on the Night Sky! Located at Colver Park
Join the Southern Oregon Skywatchers for an evening of telescopes and stars! Dress warmly, bring lawn chairs or a blanket, and a flashlight and prepare to look up! All events are subject to clear skies.
September 6, 2025: Peek at Our Pollinators! Located at Blue Heron Park
Join us Saturday, September 6 from 10-12 pm for an open-air pollinator workshop for all ages. With arts and crafts, microscopes and more, we'll learn all about the amazing pollinators that make Phoenix so amazing! Did you know that moths can drum, or that bumble bees hum? Meet the Pollinator Project Rogue Valley to find out about musical pollinators, and so much more!
