Benny Green brings his dazzling mix of joy, happiness, chops and authenticity to every show. Unabashedly devoted to honoring the legends of straight-ahead jazz piano, Benny emerged at the age of 20 from a background of old-school mentorship by the likes of Oscar Peterson to accompany legendary vocalist Betty Carter. In 1987, Benny became the pianist for Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, followed by 4 years in the Freddie Hubbard Quintet. in 1993, Oscar Peterson officially declared Benny Green as his protégé. That year, Benny became the pianist in Ray Brown's Trio until 1997. Benny has continued to perform, tour worldwide and record with his own trios and solo. A must-see for fans of jazz piano!
