On Oct. 11th Wounded Warrior Project is hosting a workout in honor and memory of those who fought in the Battle of Mogadishu. They will also have a veteran who fought in the battle to share a brief reflection before we start the workout.
WHO: Veterans, Active Duty, First Responders, Families of the Fallen and Civilians
WHAT: Battle of Mogadishu Memorial Workout
WHEN: Saturday October 11th from 7:30am - 9:00am
WHERE: WWP Phoenix Office
777 E Missouri Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85104
The Workout will consist of:
- Warm Up
- 2 rounds of 18 pushups
- 2 rounds of 18 squats (weighted/battle buddy)
- Must have contact with the weight for the rest of the workout. Choose weight wisely.
- Walk/run 1 mile with weight/battle buddy. If you lose contact with the weight/battle buddy, you must wait for someone to get you to finish.
Weights will be dumbbells, kettle bells, medicine balls, ammo can, weighted vest, sandbag
#2 represents the 2 Medal of Honor recipients from the Battle of Mogadishu (Gary Gordon and Randy Shugart)
#18 represents the number of US Service Members killed in the Battle of Mogadishu.
No registration page, just show up if you can attend. Meet up in the parking lot.
