ℹ️ What is a Sharing Circle?
A Sharing Circle (also known as a Talking Circle) comes from Canadian First Nations traditions. It is a structured, respectful space for dialogue, healing, education, and reflection. Participants sit in a circle and use a sharing object to speak one at a time, while others practice active listening. The circle promotes equality, respect, truth, and understanding, often guided by Indigenous values such as the Seven Sacred Teachings.
💬 Do I have to share personal things?
No. You are welcome to share only what you feel comfortable with. You may also join simply as a listener.
📜 Community Guidelines:
• Only the person holding the sharing object may speak
• This is a safe space, not for debate or judgment
• Any advice or feedback must be kind and constructive
• Personal stories shared in the circle remain confidential
• Sharing is welcome in any language. If you plan to share in a language other than English, Khmer, or French, please inform us in advance so we can arrange translation
• A facilitator will guide the session to ensure a safe and respectful environment
