"In the Absence of the Sun": Indonesian Feature Film, set in Jakarta

A tender, melancholic night is experienced through the eyes of three women as they struggle to find themselves in this ever-changing jungle of Jakarta.

“In the Absence of the Sun” (2014, 95 min), Lucky Kuswandi’s second feature film, won him the Best Director Award from the Indonesian Film Director’s Club, screened at a plethora of festivals all over the world, and established him as one of the most promising new directors of Indonesian cinema.
