Sometimes, you have to return to where it all began — just two DJs, Mike Saga and DJ Totentanz, and a deep love for the music, keeping the spirit of Nocturne alive. Back in 2012, we were hand-making black and white flyers, driven by pure passion and a DIY punk ethic. This anniversary is a tribute to that raw beginning — the spark that started it all.
For over a decade, VORTEX has been the beating heart of Philadelphia’s dark dance underground — rising like a bat from the ashes of the legendary Nocturne at Club Shampoo. It's been an honor and a relentless journey through shadowy rhythms, haunting melodies, and the electric pulse that fuels our nights.
Across 13 years, we’ve united bands and DJs from around the world, building a global community bound by the shared language of darkness and sound.
This isn’t just a celebration. It’s a love letter to the night — to the shadows that stir our souls, the beats that bind us, and the memories forged on the dance floor.
