Join us for an evening of celebration and recognition as we honor individuals who embody the spirit of Vare Recreation Center’s community.
Creative Philadelphia, in collaboration with artists Dyymond Whipper-Young and Michael Coppage, is proud to present the forthcoming sculpture The Center. This artwork will feature a young African American woman supporting a ring above her head, accompanied by the hands of five community members.
During the celebration, a live lottery will determine the five individuals whose hands will be 3D scanned and cast in bronze to be included in the sculpture. This is a unique opportunity to leave a lasting legacy in our shared space. Light refreshments and an art activity will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there!
