Hialeah, Florida. A papaya slips from between Ama’s legs and shatters. Another chance at motherhood, gone.
Ama is hell-bent on having a child. No wonder she feels an affinity to Oyá, a barren African Orisha.
Blending Santería, modern-day Miami, and Cuban beats, "Ama. Egg. Oyá." examines infertility, motherhood, and maternal ambivalence.

Each year, the conference offers audiences an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the future of American theatre, as bold, boundary-pushing new works, like this one, come to life in free public staged readings featuring some of the region’s most exciting playwrights, artists, and producing collaborators.
Power Street Theatre (PST) is dedicated to art for social change by investing in creative thought leaders, multidisciplinary artists, and community voices through prioritizing representation, accessibility, education, arts advocacy, and joy.
