CONTROL (2007) - Ian Curtis Remembrance Day at PhilaMOCA

Joy Division singer Ian Curtis (Sam Riley), married to Deborah (Samantha Morton) at a young age, struggles with the growing success of his band and his burgeoning attraction towards a Belgian journalist. Compounded by his battle with epilepsy, he succumbs to his despair on the eve of Joy Division's first American tour.

Acclaimed filmmaker Anton Corbijn, responsible for some of the most iconic photographs of Joy Division, directs this beautifully bleak black and white biopic based on the book Touching From A Distance by Deborah Curtis.

Screening on the 45th anniversary of Ian Curtis' passing on May 18, 1980.
