Genre - Cosmic Acoustic American Revival (Cowboy Hillbilly Hippie Folk)
Edge Hill Rounders
An Original Folk and Americana Band
Edge Hill Rounders
An Original Folk and Americana Band
The Edge Hill Rounders (EHR) are an acoustic music group featuring
both originals and great covers in a mix of folk, cosmic americana,
bluegrass, rock, and old time genres. Paul Mamolou (guitar) and
Tim Cheney (mandolin) deliver tight vocal harmonies inspired by
artists like Ira and Charlie Louvin and Gram Parsons and Chris
Hillman of the Flying Burrito Brothers. John Mahony adds sizzling
fiddle, with Chris Gately on drums, and Topher Horner on bass. EHR’s songwriting covers a broad spectrum, from wry wit to songs that tug on your heartstrings and on to the folk tradition of songs reporting current events.
The Rounders have performed at all of the area folk venues including four times at the Philadelphia Folk Festival.
Paul Mamolou and Tim Cheney founded the band in 2014 when they discovered their voices matched perfectly and shared a passion for rootsy country harmonies. They knew they had to form a band. While additional musicians have come and gone, the original vision remains.

The Shoeshiners play a mix of bluesy Americana Roots Rock that sets them apart from most bands in this area. Based in Philadelphia, Montgomery, and Delaware Counties in PA, the quintet creates something unique with fans returning for more.
Each venue's set list is carefully cultivated to ensure the right mix for the time/place/audience.
Cover Song Selection- Their cover songs cross multiple genres and periods, focusing on well-known songs that are not typically played. In addition, the Shoeshiners love to adapt pop songs and spin them into something new and different. Lastly, they stay true to their roots and offer songs that come from long ago, but have been reimagined to keep them relevant.
Originals - The Shoeshiners sets feature originals that will stop you in your tracks. With two writers in the band, new originals are added to each show and have become some of their most popular requests.
Attitude - One word. FUN. The Shoeshiners just don't play music- they put on a show. They engage with the audience and take them along for the ride. Come on out and get "shined" and you'll know why people are talking about this band!
The Sound
Rooted in classic tones yet infused with their own distinct style, the band delivers timeless, yet uniquely personal performances. The music provides a perfect mix of new and old, familiar favorites and forgotten gems that keep their fans wanting more.

THE VENUE:
https://www.therotunda.org/
4014 Walnut St
Phila PA
The Rotunda is a community space currently in its 25th year.
Most events are free or minimally ticketed to attend, and many people host them, uplifting many cultures, identities, causes, etc. People experiment and spread their wings here.
We book almost anyone who enters the door as long as their event fits into the space logistically. We often work with folks from marginalized backgrounds to try to give them a safer space that will support them when others haven't given them that chance.
The Rotunda is a beloved destination. Music scenes exist here already, much of the experimental and avant-garde variety, but not exclusively. A legendary hip-hop series happens here, as do films, activist gatherings, educational events, etc.
People come to us repeatedly to book their "weird" or offbeat or undefinable event; the venue is often their first choice, but sometimes, it's the place they come to when other venues haven't allowed them to book or want to charge them too much money.
Since some events here are avant-garde, some audiences will be small compared to more mainstream genres. But they'll be big by avant-garde standards. As for the straight-up activist events or events that feature predominantly marginalized voices, curators for those are steeped in the communities they serve, and people come out as a result.
Rotunda parking
There is [mostly metered street parking on Walnut, 40th, Locust, Spruce, etc. Most meters stop at 6pm but please read all signs carefully since some meters vary.
Best bet: Park on 41st, 42nd, Locust, or Spruce. (Walnut and 40th are more challenging)
Acme also has an 8-story parking garage on the northwest corner of 40th and Walnut. It is $14 for two hours.
