West Virginia Theater East enthusiastically announces auditions for their Fall Show, Bram Stoker’s “Dracula”, adapted for the stage by Hardy County native, Stephen G. Smith, and produced by Ravenna Redman.
Show dates are:
October 17th, 18th, 24th, and 25th at 7:00 PM
October 19th, and October 26th at 2:00 PM
Audition will take place at the Landes Art Center on the following dates:
July 26th from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM
July 29th from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM
July 31st from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM.
This show is not suitable for children. Actors must be thirteen years old to adult.
The following parts need to be casted:
Jonathan Harker: A young lawyer who is sent by his boss and mentor to Transylvania to conclude a business deal with a mysterious Count. He is engaged and later married to Mina.
Landlady: Kindly woman who befriends Jonathan during his stop at her inn.
Count Dracula: A mysterious nobleman who lives in the Carpathian Mountains in Transylvania. He is a vampire.
Brides One, Two, and Three: Victims of and now the brides of Count Dracula. Vampires, they are sensuous and compelling.
Mother of Stolen Child: Frantic woman in search of her baby.
Mrs. Stillwell: Local busybody in Whitby.
Lucy Westnera: Attractive, kind, and lively young woman who is subject to sleep-walking and adored by many.
John Seward: Doctor and former student of Van Helsing. He runs a private lunatic asylum. Intelligent and kind. A suitor of Lucy.
Quincy Morris: Brave, adventurous young man from Texas. He is a suitor of Lucy. Plainspoken.
Abraham Van Helsing: Professor of medicine and occult studies from Amsterdam. He is the former instructor and mentor to Doctor John Seward.
Arthur Holmwood/Lord Godalming: Lucy’s suitor and ultimately her fiancée. He is determined, wealthy, and athletic.
Renfield: Inmate of Seward’s asylum who is of particular interest to him. One minute he is dangerous; another he is urbane. Giving to consuming living flies and spiders.
Mina Murray/Harker: Young schoolmistress. Engaged to and later marries Jonathan Harker. Very quick-witted and resourceful. Childhood friend and companion of Lucy Westenra.

Villagers
Party-goers.
Auditions will take place at the Landes Art Center in Petersburg, West Virginia. Please come to the back door.
