Pulga will teach a dance class on September 22nd from 6-7:30 at the New Canadian Centre. Pulga teaches a high energy, beginner-friendly class that combines Afro Fusion and Mozambican traditional dance, mixing in movements from Nigeria, Ghana and Angola. Pulga fosters an inclusive space where people of all races and cultures can come together to share, learn, and explore new paths through moving together.
About: Pulga Muchochoma
Born in Quelimane, Mozambique, Pulga’s training began there with Montes Namuli Dance Company. Pulga travelled to Canada with Montes Namuli and Shakespeare Link Canada to perform at the International Aids Conference, after which he was sponsored to remain in Canada and train at the School of Toronto Dance Theatre. He later joined the company of Toronto Dance Theatre and danced there for many years. He has also danced for countless Canadian dance luminaries including James Kudelka, Bill Coleman, Peggy Baker, Peter Chin, Veronica Tennant & Josh Beamish. A multi-talented artist, Pulga sings, writes songs, drums, dances, choreographs, teaches and directs. In 2015 Pulga founded Pulga Dance in order to share his creative work with a broad audience.
