Production / Factory Management refers to the design, operation, and control of the transformation process that converts such resources as labor and raw materials into finished goods and services. It includes manufacturing (produce physical goods). Improving productivity has become a major goal in virtually every organization. By productivity, we mean the overall output of goods or services produced divided by the inputs needed to generate that output. Increasing productivity is a key to global competitiveness. This course will focus on the importance of efficiency, productivity, and quality in the operations side of the organization.
