The orchestra that breaks the rules invites you to turn the page and enter a bold new chapter of its evocative, immersive chamber music series ✨
WA Stories Chapter II is a spellbinding odyssey where extraordinary music, cinematic visuals, and vivid narration converge to reveal the known and untold stories of three remarkable West Australians: Edith Dircksey Cowan, Richard Walley, and Jon Sanders.
Set beneath Otto the Blue Whale in Hackett Hall at WA Museum Boola Bardip, this isn’t history as you know it… it’s storytelling reimagined 💫
With two of these living legends still walking among us, this chapter offers rare and personal insight, enriched by real-life anecdotes, emotions and reflections shared firsthand, adding powerful new dimensions to their legacies of courage, change and contribution.
Chapter II opens with Story 4: a moving tribute to Edith Dircksey Cowan, who was the first woman elected to any Australian parliament, and the first in the British Empire to pass a bill into law. Her story is one of resilience, reform and a state transformed.
