Session 1: Waste -Big Picture (Wed 11 June, 6-8.30pm, ToVP Admin Building)
History of waste -how we got here. What happens in WA. Where does our waste go and why? Some of the problems.
Session 2: Waste Sort and Looking at Alternatives (Wed 18 June, 6-8.30pm Admin Building TOVP)
Doing a waste sort- seeing where tricky things can go. Understand limits (eg single-use materials, pill packets) with possibilities of a different approach.
Session 3: Using our Organics (Sat 21 June, 9am-12pm, Vic Park Community Garden)
No need to put any organic waste into bins- we can use it ourselves or find local solutions- find out how and why it’s good idea. Tips and tricks and no smelly compost bins!
Session 4: Tour of CLAW Environmental (Wed 25 June, 9-11am, Forge St Welshpool)
A look at a local plastics recycler in Perth. How they deal with difficult plastics we don’t put in our recycle bin at home
Session 5: How to use all this Information (Wed 2 July, 6-8.30pm, ToVP Admin Building)
Now we have knowledge with ideas for change, but we tell family and friends and no-one cares! How to spread the message without alienating the neighbourhood.
