Ready to take your knitting skills to the next level? Now that you've completed Intro to Knitting and know how to knit and purl, let's try knitting in the round on circular needles (no need to turn!) and create a simple beanie. Get started now to make one (or more!) for cooler months and perfect holiday gifts.
Learn how to cast on to circular knitting needles, how to create the hat's brim, and how to decrease stitches to shape the top of your beanie. Participants will get lots of individual support and learn how to troubleshoot common issues. Bonus: because this beanie is worked in the round, these beanies have no seam on the side.
Completed hats are approximately 7" to 9" tall, and 20" to 27" in circumference. Participants making a hat to give as a gift can bring either a hat or measurements in that person's correct head size. Everyone will take home a set of circular knitting needles, their chosen yarn, and printed handouts to reference when they get home.
Class Note: To register for this class, participants must have previously completed Intro to Knitting at 577. Participants are welcome to bring a notepad and pen to take notes. All other supplies are provided.

Community Instructor: Annie Johnson
Annie grew up in an Arts & Crafts household, learning to crochet at 7 and knit at 14. She has honed most of her knowledge through trial and error, observation, and decades of repetition. She has been teaching for over 10 years and loves to share the joy of fiber crafts with anyone interested, from preschool to retired. Her favorite parts of teaching are witnessing a student's ah-ha moment and seeing them explore the hobby in their own way.
