All Aboard for a Day of Railway Fun and Discovery!
Experience the sights and sounds of railway history like never before at Summer on the Rails! Join us for a full day of family-friendly fun featuring our one-of-a-kind Electric Railway Parade, where our historic electric railway collection takes center stage.
Catch rare and fan-favorite equipment like LARy 1201, 3001, PE 1624, our Tower Cars , and so many more as they parade through the museum grounds. Narrow Gauge parade starting at 10:00 AM and Standard Gauge parade starting at 11:00AM. All rolling stock will then stay on static display for up-close viewing.

🎲 Play lawn games and join in hands-on crafts for kids
🌳 Relax under the trees at Holstrom Park—bring a picnic or stop by the Museum Store for snacks, drinks, and ice cream

Activities and exhibits open from 9am-4pm.
You’ll also have the opportunity to see our Steam Crew in action, as they continue work on VC-2’s 1472-day inspection during this scheduled restoration weekend. Work scheduled from 9am-12pm.
Come for the trains, stay for the fun—there’s something for everyone to enjoy!
