Welsh-born Jem obtained a law degree while DJing and pioneering Brighton’s early Drum ’n’ Bass scene. Learning to navigate a bedroom-studio she ran a breakbeat record label before assisting at the acclaimed club night which launched the DJ career of Fatboy Slim. Co-writing ‘Nothing Fails’ for Madonna's American Life album, she later dropped her self-made demo at LA’s revered radio station KCRW where it became No.1 listener requested. Jem’s platinum debut, Finally Woken, (with ubiquitous song ‘They’) has sold over a million copies worldwide, she’s amassed millions of views on YouTube, and her music rings out daily in stores and coffee shops around the globe. Her songs have been featured in numerous films, trailers, TV shows & commercials incl. Grey’s Anatomy, Orange Is the New Black, Sex and the City The Movie, Damages, Julie and Julia, Monster-in-Law, Gossip Girl, The O.C., Desperate Housewives, Six Feet Under, Dancing With the Stars, Strictly Come Dancing, Celebrity Love Island (original theme song), Lexus, Fiat, WWE, Pantene, Sephora, Tesco, Amazon, HULU & more. Jem’s played stadium shows supporting DMB and shared billing with Kanye, Black Eyed Peas, Maroon 5, P!nk and Ray LaMontagne to name a few. Her music’s been covered in Cantonese and Mandarin by China’s acclaimed Karen Mok, Taiwan’s Jolin Tsai and the HK Cantopop duo Twins. Also a writer, director and entrepreneur, Jem’s creating and producing film & TV and building 360 franchise IP across an array of industries.
