Billyrrom was formed in 2020 and quickly garnered. A 6 piece band, their music ranked in a number of Viral Charts on Spotify both in Japan and Asia, attracting worldwide attention. The band has performed at Japanese mega festivals such as FUJIROCK, METROCK, Greenroom, RISING SUN, and SPACE LOVE SHOWER as well as Asian festivals in Taiwan, where they have been praised for their energetic live performance. where they proved themselves to be a live powerhouse, full of fun and energy that works towards an incredibly receptive crowd. Billyrrom has been selected as a Japanese representative for “Fender Next ™” 2024, a Fender Next Generation Artist Support Program which selected 25 promising talent from across the world out of 1000 artists. The band name Billyrrom derives from their admiration of the ‘unwavering mindset ’ of Bill Evans, combined with the vision of the nomadic Romani people, in hope that their music will travel with fluidity and without boundaries. Their musicality is vividly filled with funk, soul, rock and even city pop - which was introduced in the media as an ever evolving ‘TOKYO TRANSITION SOUL’- and features the signature sound and speed of Rin’s cutting guitar, Shunsuke’s & Taisewatabiki’s tight danceable rhythms, Leno’s beautifully woven essence of synthesizers and Yuta’s DJ scratches, and the high-toned delicate yet powerful vocals by Mol - thus creating the unique ‘Billyrrom-ness’ sound.
