A musical super star in the making: Arivu is a soulful composer, multi-genre singer, fierce rapper, incisive songwriter: all in one-package. Currently, he is busy giving the finishing touches to his genre-bending multi-lingual sophomore studio album, VALLIYAMMA PERANDI, coming out soon to take over the world. Arivu’s single Enjoy Enjaami (with Dhee and Santhosh Narayanan) broke the glass ceiling for Indian independent music by garnering more than 490 million views on Youtube (as of April 2024). His contribution of fusing the traditional genre of Oppari with modern rap and pop in his writing and delivery is widely appreciated. Later, DJ Snake remixed the song. Rolling Stone India heralded Arivu as ‘the voice of socio-political hip-hop, smashing records and defying social norms’ and featured him in its digital cover Arivu initially rose to prominence as the chief songwriter and rapper of the musical group The Casteless Collective in 2017. Arivu’s debut solo album, "Therukural," produced by ofRO released in 2019, received widespread acclaim for its powerful messages and innovative fusion of hip-hop with traditional Tamil folk music elements. As a film lyricist and playback singer, Arivu has collaborated with the heavyweights of Tamil Music Industry including 2x Oscar winner A.R. Rahman, Anirudh Ravichander, Yuvan Shankar Raja, G. V. Prakash, etc., In 2023, Arivu served as the co-curator of tamil edition of Coke Studio Season One.
