Beginner Birding for Kids

Join us for a walk through Clark Nature Preserve along the universally accessible Lloyd Clark Trail! Designed for ages 6-12, this introductory birding walk will focus on opening our eyes and ears and discovering the incredible lives of the feathered friends who visit our local skies, forests, meadows, and waterways. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Every attendee must purchase a ticket.

What to Expect: This event will be entirely outdoors. We will primarily walk along the universally accessible Lloyd Clark Trail, although we may step off onto grass or other trails that may have uneven surfaces and some elevation changes in pursuit of any particularly interesting birds.There is a port-a-john available on site.

Where to Meet: At the Clark Nature Preserve trail kiosk, just past the yellow gate

What to Bring: Bring binoculars if you have them. Binoculars will be provided for those who do not have access to a set. Dress appropriately for the weather, including rain. Bring water and a snack.

Event Leader: Sarah Gotwols, Volunteer Coordinator with Lancaster Conservancy and resident bird nerd, is a Lancaster County native who has spent countless hours observing birds in their natural habitat along the Susquehanna River.

Refund Policy: If you are unable to attend this event after purchasing a ticket, refund requests must be made at least 48 hours before the event.

Animal Policy: Service animals active or in training are welcome. Please leave all pets at home.

Cancellation Policy: This event will be held rain or shine, with cancellation for severe weather made at the time of the event. If the Conservancy reschedules the event, attendees will be emailed, and tickets will be automatically moved to the new date. If the Conservancy cancels the event, attendees will be notified via email and refunded.
