Proclamation of #Girlsday benefiting the Center for Prevention of Abuse

Please join us in celebration as we proclaim October 4th #Girlsday 💕

October is Domestic Violence awareness month.

WHEREAS, sexual assault and domestic violence cause major economic, emotional, physical and psychological impacts among children, adults and families; and

WHEREAS, the costs of sexual assault and domestic violence in the United States are estimated to be more than $4 trillion, including medical and legal costs, lost workdays and wages, property loss and damage; and

WHEREAS, 1 in 6 women and 1 in 33 men will be victims of sexual assault in their lifetime and 516 calls are placed to the National Sexual Assault Hotline daily, and

WHEREAS, 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been the victims of domestic violence and more than 460,000 people are served each year through the National Domestic Violence Hotline
