Come and enjoy an afternoon of family stories told by a descendant of Frederick Lawrence Block, a founder of the iconic Block and Kuhl department store. Who was Fred Block? How did he get from Norden, a town in East Frisia, Germany, to Peoria, Illinois? How did he and others work to establish the "Great White Store," the preeminent retail establishment indownstate Illinois? Join us for this rare opportunity to hear the history of a Peoria landmark from a direct descendant of the founder. Authentic Block & Kuhl memorabilia will be on display.
