Spoil to Soil
7756 Lower Bowl Road, Peoa, United States
Spoil to Soil is officially composting for the 2023 season!
What we do: We sort, grind the green waste, and mix in the proper ratios of materials, we move it to the windrows, use the turner to mix the materials further, setup our soaker watering lines(to minimize water usage), take 2-3 temp and moisture measurements per day and apply water as required. Test and screen the compost to go back into the community .We create mulch products, compost, topsoil, and woodchips. 100% of incoming green waste is processed and goes back into the community.
One of our big focuses is to ensure we do not go anaerobic in our compost windrows. Going anaerobic means a compost pile produces methane. We are even adding methane detection sensors.
We are licensed under the Utah Department of Environmental Quality as a licensed solid waste facility for green waste while using a slight variant of the Berkeley Hot Compost method. We are also a USDA Compost farm. Mimbach Co. / Spoil to Soil is a minority woman owned business.
This tour will be held outdoors. We recommend wearing closed-toed, comfortable shoes. If you are extra sensitive to food smells, you can bring a face covering like a mask. Please dress for the weather.
This tour is limited to 15 attendees on a first-come, first-served basis.
If the event is full, Eventbrite will open a waitlist option. Signup there and you will be contacted as space opens up.
