CHILDREN'S/FAMILY WORKSHOP:
Have you ever noticed the many mine buildings across the
Cornish landscape?
Want to learn more about Cornwall’s mining heritage and the
objects it produced?

In this session, you will explore the people and the places which
made mining one of Cornwall’s main trades, and learn about
the minerals, myths and material culture produced in the
region.

In the lead-up to the 20th anniversary in 2026 of Cornwall
UNESCO’s mining status, Lore & Piece will be working with East
Pool Mine to showcase the mines that National Trust are
honoured to care for.

In this session, you will meet a real-life bal-maiden, design your
own mine/object, and create a mine/bal-maiden magnet - all
taking place in the historic mining setting at East Pool Mine!
