Creative Rise Cornwall is a new artist development programme nurturing the next generation of dance and theatre artists in the region. Join us for this Open Studio event, marking the culmination of our inaugural cohort's intensive 2-week Physical Theatre LAB.
During the LAB, our group of 12 emerging artists will spend the first week working with an array of guest artists, gaining new tools, techniques and approaches for devising and performing in a physical theatre style. In the second week, they’ll put their new skills to the test and collaboratively devise a short piece (or two!) to be shared with you at the end of the week.
This event is not only a celebration of our cohort’s creative process, but also a space to open vital conversations about Cornwall’s performing arts ecology. Following the sharing, cultural agitator Dicky Souray will facilitate a discussion on how we can better support early career artists in the region. The afternoon will conclude with time to connect, reflect, and network over refreshments, giving you the chance to meet our group of talented dancers, actors and theatre makers.
