Hedge sapling planting - session 1

We have arrangements in place (obviously weather dependent and assuming the saplings are delivered on time) for hedge planting sessions - a mix of holly, hazel, crab apple, downy birch, hawthorn and goat willow, all of which we are advised will be suitable for the new hedge we started 3 years ago.

The saplings are quite small (less than 1ft) so will be straightforward to plant. We will be with a class (P6) from Roslin Primary school, who will probably need some help!

It would be good if you can bring a garden trowel or small garden spade, and gardening gloves are a good idea if possible.
