𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞):

Hailing from the North Carolina countryside, or “The Middle of Nowhere,” as it’s proudly dubbed on their debut album, the 6 headed musical monster known as 'Big Something' has steadily become one of the most unique and exciting rock bands to emerge from the Southeast. Their musical alchemy is deeply rooted in the strong bond of its members—Nick MacDaniels [lead vocals, guitar], Jesse Hensley [lead guitar, vocals], Casey Cranford [saxophone, E.W.I. “Electronic Wind Instrument”], Ben Vinograd [drums], Josh Kagel [keys, trumpet], and Matt Laird [bass].

After over a decade of touring together with 7 full-length studio albums and even their own Summer music festival The Big What?, Big Something has emerged as a grassroots phenomenon in the live music community.

𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐃𝐮𝐛 (𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞):

RoC (Roots of Creation) has taken on a unique new project: Grateful Dub: a Reggae-infused tribute to the Jerry Garcia & The Grateful Dead. Combining their longtime love for Reggae-Dub style music and the Grateful Dead, RoC reworked some of the world’s favorite Dead tunes into a new studio album. RoC had the pleasure of working in the studio with the legendary 5-time Grammy winner Errol Brown who was Bob Marley’s sound engineer for this project. Grateful Dub is also being performed live in its entirety at festivals, theatres, and clubs around the country, and features rotating live special guests that has included Melvin Seals (Jerry Garcia Band), Scott Guberman (Phil Lesh), Zach Nugent, RyMo, AG, & Paul W. (Slightly Stoopid), G. Love (G. Love & Special Sauce), Mihali (Twiddle), Dan Kelly (Fortunate Youth) and others. Grateful Dub captures the spirit and magic of the Grateful Dead, while laying it down Reggae-Dub style.

𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐟𝐭 & 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 (𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞):

A hometown funk-rock collective hailing from Plymouth, Massachusetts, 3rd Left is a dynamic ensemble known for their fusion of rock, jazz, and funk influences. With a history spanning over a decade, the band has become a staple on the South Shore music scene, performing regularly at local venues and events. For the Shakedown, 3rd Left will be bringing along some of your favorite South Shore musicians. Expect a great time with a mix of funky jams, rock, and a little bit of everything in between.

𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐕𝐚𝐧 𝐆𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧 (𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞):

Van Gordon Martin is a sonic chameleon and a deeply creative artist, known for his ability to seamlessly blend a wide range of musical styles. A multi-instrumentalist, producer, and powerhouse lead guitarist, VGM has made his mark on the East Coast music scene for over two decades. He is a key member of several notable projects, including the Boston-based reggae collective Dub Apocalypse, the Moroccan/jazz/electronic group Club D’elf, and as part of Big Daddy Kane’s live band. VGM has also performed with Paul Wolstencroft of Slightly Stoopid’s Organically Good Trio, The Naya Rockers, and many others. A founding member of Spiritual Rez, he toured extensively with the band until 2011, leaving a lasting impact on the scene.

𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐞 (𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞):

Touring with Big Something as support. Led by the dynamic Natalie Brooke, a virtuoso keyboardist and vocalist, The Infinity Tribe delivers a high-energy blend of funk, rock, and jazz fusion. Known for their electrifying performances and infectious grooves, the band has become a staple in the Baltimore music scene. Together, they create a sound that has been described as a mashup of Rick James and Rush, with a fiery blend of fast tempos and sloshy rock elements balanced by transcendent jazzy roots. Their music is characterized by percussive and melodic keyboard lines, commanding vocals, and extended jams that captivate audiences.

𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐝𝐚𝐡𝐟𝐥𝐲 (𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞):

Buddahfly is a Reggae-Rock group hailing from the South Shore of Massachusetts. Nominated for 2 Boston Music Awards and a New England Music Award in the past 2 years, Buddahfly is one of the premier Reggae-Rock acts in the North East with a powerful live show performed on stages around the region. The band is made up of Brandon Lynch (Lead Vox & Guitar), Will Glass (Lead and Rhythm Guitar), Scott Cargill (Drums, DuB and Percussion), Jahmar Davis (Saxophone & Lead Vocals), Jimmy Macdonald (Bass), Bryce Staley (Trombone) and Kelly Emery (Trumpet).

𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐓𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 (𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞):

Hailing from Plymouth, Massachusetts, Total Strangers is a five piece pop rock band that consistently delivers a live set of nonstop high energy original music. Drawing on a wide variety of musical influences, Total Strangers create a sound that is steeped in classic rock, soul, funk, reggae, and pop, but is unmistakably all their own. Their songwriting blends catchy melodies, tasteful grooves, and virtuosic playing into unforgettable songs that capture audiences. Fronted by sibling duo Mal and Pat Fey, listeners are treated to powerful vocals and tight harmonies. Providing the grooves that get audiences moving and keep them dancing until the last note are drummer Brendan Dillon and bass player Chris Heine. Rounding out the band with masterful guitar solos and tasteful lead playing is guitarist Ben Bass.

𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐃𝐉 𝐉𝐚𝐡 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐡:

Jah Rich ( @strictly_yard_music) is a seasoned Reggae DJ that spins strictly vinyl on the wheels of steel in the greater Boston area and beyond.
