On Friday 15th August at 7:15 pm in our marquee we are delighted to host Fabletown
Fabletown is a vibrant 7-piece Americana band residing in Edinburgh and the Lothians, weaving together the rich tapestry of American roots music with the spirit of Scottish, South African and Scandinavian storytelling. Formed in 2019, the band has quickly carved out a unique niche in the music scene, captivating audiences with their heartfelt lyrics, rich harmonies, and dynamic instrumentation. The members of Fabletown come from diverse musical backgrounds, bringing together a collective of talents that includes guitars, piano & keys, fiddle, melodica, bass, drums, percussion and soulful three-part hamornies. This blend creates a lush sound that echoes a transatlantic landscape of both America, Scotland and Scandinavia whilst reflecting themes of love, loss, adventure, and resilience.
The name and concept of Fabletown represents a spirited hub, settlement or location for the creation of their music, serving as an outlet for songs rich in storytelling and fable-like themes. Their tracks resonate deeply with listeners, inviting them to embark upon a journey through vivid narratives and emotionally-charged historical landscapes. Building on this foundation, the band’s debut album, Fabletown, beautifully blends traditional Americana with the diverse cultural influences of its members from Scotland, Japan, and South Africa, offering a refreshing and unique perspective on the genre.
