In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore the fiery tradition of Fire Cider — a beloved winter tonic that bridges the worlds of food and medicine. Originally created by herbalist Rosemary Gladstar, Fire Cider has become a cherished recipe among herbalists worldwide for its immune-boosting, circulation-stimulating, and digestion-supporting properties.
Using a blend of horseradish root, ginger, onions, garlic, citrus, herbs, and raw local honey, we’ll craft a tangy, savoury, and spicy infused vinegar designed to keep you feeling strong and vital through the long winter months. You’ll learn the history, purpose, and endless variations of this famous remedy — and make your own customized one-litre jar right in class using high-quality organic and locally sourced ingredients.
You’ll also take home detailed recipes, inspiration for using Fire Cider in everyday cooking (like drizzling it over roasted veggies or whisking it into salad dressings), and the confidence to make it again at home whenever you need to rekindle your inner fire.
Each participant will leave with:
A 1L jar of personalized Fire Cider made in class
Printed recipes and notes for future batches
A deeper connection to herbal traditions that keep us well through the seasons
