Real People - Real God

I’m AJ. I was born into poverty, addiction and domestic violence, so growing up was far from normal. It was tough and trauma-filled and, therefore, had adverse effects on my life. These effects manifested themselves in anger, violence, and an overwhelming sense of hopelessness and ultimately saw me serve 17 years of my adult life in prison. It was in these darkest moments that Jesus met me, revealed his light, broke my chains and set me free. Jesus transformed my heart and gave me hope for the first time. Now, because of Jesus, I live each day seeking to know Jesus more and to share his redemptive and transformative love.
