GRANDSLAM - Night Of Champions brought to you by Harcourts Dunn & Peninsula Beverages Coca-Cola

The Africa Wrestling Alliance (AWA) House of Pain is back! The AWA will be hosting its annual Grandslam event on the 23rd of September at the Parow Civic Centre.
The event is well known for featuring all AWA's championships being defended. This will see the Lightweight, Cruiserweight and All Africa Heavyweight Championships being defended on the night.

In an exciting development, AWA management are introducing Tag Team Championships! To determine the first winners of these belts, four teams have been chosen to compete in 2 matches at Grandslam. The winners of each match will compete at Rumble in December for the chance to be the first AWA Tag Team Champions in over 15 years! Two teams that have been chosen are the brash Takeover, and fan favorites Jan Die Skaapboer and Revyv. Other teams will be announced in due course.
The main event for the evening will see a Triple Threat Match for the AWA All Africa Heavyweight Championship with Johnny Palazzio defending against former champion Mike Xander and Johannesburg based wrestler Ananzi. Mike lost the championship to the Oz in 2023 and was never granted a rematch, and Ananzi laid down a challenge that made AWA management take notice. This will be a tough test for the champion Palazzio, which could see the championship head to Johannesburg with Ananzi, or being reclaimed by Mike.
