Welcome to the Youth Leadership Program 2025!
Our program will give young Muslims skills they need to succeed in their personal lives and also inspire a new generation of Muslim leadership that has a strong desire to serve our community.
The key learning areas of the program include:
• Emotional wellbeing and resilience.
• Building key skills in decision-making, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication.
• Exploring leadership through an Islamic lens
• Gaining hands-on experience in project management and community engagement.
Part one of the program will focus on learning different aspects of leadership through workshops facilitated by experienced leadership professionals and Islamic content delivered by Professor Mohamad Abdalla and Imam Abdalla.
In part two of the program (beginning January 27, 2026), participants can elect to be part of the Islamic Society’s Youth Advisory Subcommittee. As part of the committee, they will continue working on projects that matter to them and will have a lasting impact on the community. For their first project, they will brainstorm as a group a project they wish to complete over the next 12 months that will deliver some benefit to the Muslim and/or wider community.
Membership for the Youth Committee will be for 12 months, and young people will provide advice to ISSA’s leadership team, ensuring that the voices of young Muslims are heard . The frequency of meetings and projects as part of the youth committee will be guided by young people's availability.
In part two of the program, we will also link participants with a career mentor. This is so they can ask question and potentially get further experience in that field as they complete their schooling.
Price of entire program:
$100 per child
RSVP by Saturday 30th August 2025.
Part 1:
October 4th to December 13th
2pm to 4pm every Saturday - with the exception of one lesson which will be delivered on Sunday November 30th
Part 2:
Begins January 27th
With further involvement, guided by children's availability
